Halle Bailey has announced the birth of her first child, after keeping her pregnancy a secret, and she’s revealed the baby boy’s adorable name.

The Little Mermaid movie star announced her son’s birth via Instagram, with partner, rapper DDG. Although Bailey didn’t announce her pregnancy to the world, many eagle-eyed fans spotted signs along the way, although others, were in complete shock by the happy announcement.

Taking to her 7.8 million Instagram followers, the 23-year-old announced the birth of her son, who was the ‘best thing’ that happened to her in 2023.

“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo, the world is desperate to know you,” she penned in the caption.

In the picture, Halle could be seen holding her little boy’s hand, who was wearing an engraved golden bracelet, with his name, Halo.

Eagle-eyed fans began to speculate late last year that the star may well be expecting, as she wore a flowy long dress to the MTV VMAs in September.

Some fans were also claiming the star had a “pregnancy nose,” however, the 23-year-old said there would be ‘hell to pay’ if people commented on her nose one more time.

“Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s gonna be hell to pay. And you know why? Cause I am black. I love my nose,” she said via Snapchat in November.

The couple was adamant about keeping their arrival a surprise, as DDG denied he had a baby daughter on New Year’s Eve, telling fans to ‘mind their business’.

Halle and DDG, 26, went public with their relationship in March 22. The rapper also posted the same picture to his Instagram page, alongside the caption: “My biggest blessing by far. Son son… never been so in love. Baby Halo.”

Congratulations are in order

As the star announced her surprise news, fans and celebrity friends took to social media to congratulate the couple.

Music star Nicki Minaj wrote: “Welcome to earth, Halo. We’ve been expecting you. Congrats, mama!”

“Congrats beauty! Welcome to motherhood,” exclaimed Tia Mowry.

Halle’s partner also commented on her post, penning: “Supermom [red heart emojis].”

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express how shocked they were, despite the fact they had already guessed. “I genuinely thought she would never reveal this or she was trolling the whole time omg,” said one shocked fan.

“I know it was obvious but why am I actually kinda shocked,” wrote another.
